The reveal of Zoom’s identity on The Flash is looming. Now I’m not sure if we’re going to get it tonight—some previews have been released showing Zoom about to unmask, but that might not actually happen for a while; or it might be tonight’s cliffhanger with the true reveal coming next week. In any event, let me speculate because mindless speculation is almost always fun.

So one of the more popular theories is that it’s the Earth-2 version of Henry Allen (Barry’s father). I’m on board with this (though granted, it might be a bit too Darth Vader-ish for some), as I enjoy father-son conflicts—they’re a natural struggle, with a lot of built-in drama. Also, there was something of an Easter Egg in an earlier episode (that I haven’t seen brought up in this context previously) where we hear on an Earth-2 newscast that the Arrow of Earth-2 is Oliver Queen’s father. If the parallels run true, then Barry’s father would be a speedster on this world instead of Barry.

Looks like we’ll find out soon enough.
