As some of you may already be aware, this blog originally started on the Pronto Comics website. If you’re interested in reading any of those posts (which you should be, because, y’know, I’m brilliant), here are links to every single one Continue reading The Original Curmudgeon Blog

2014: A Comics-Geek Odyssey, Part 7
A few years later and I’m slowly (very slowly) approaching puberty. Continue reading 2014: A Comics-Geek Odyssey, Part 7
2014: A Comics-Geek Odyssey, Part 6
This is me on the living room floor of grandma’s house circa early ’77. The comics (at least the ones we can see) are Daredevil #138, Ghost Rider #21, and Marvel Double Feature #21. The comic that is open in front of me is… well, I don’t know, and quite frankly it’s driving me nuts. Continue reading 2014: A Comics-Geek Odyssey, Part 6
2014: A Comics-Geek Odyssey, Part 5

2014: A Comics-Geek Odyssey, Part 1
The Spider-Man show disappeared from TV shortly after I had discovered it, which was certainly frustrating—I may have (alright, so I probably did) throw a tantrum or two over it. Continue reading 2014: A Comics-Geek Odyssey, Part 1
Spidey B.C. (Before Comics)
After the TV show, my next encounter with Spidey came in toy form—specifically the Ben Cooper “Wiggler Jiggler.” This was a rubber figure with a loop of string attached to the head. It was a fairly cheap construction, and before long the figure started to break at the neck. Continue reading Spidey B.C. (Before Comics)
Simply Spectacular!
Alright, so we all know the original Spidey theme from the ’67 cartoon rules all, but I gotta admit this version (from the more contemporary Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon) comes a much closer second than I ever would have dreamed possible Continue reading Simply Spectacular!
